We just wanted to get things growing a little bit more for the Micro Hydros community site that Trent Hare had started and loved as a hobby! Trent was a personal friend of mine and I know he enjoyed building and racing his boats with his daughters. I want to keep the old site in-tact as a tribute to Trent, but also give some of the users with profiles the ability to pull their content into the new site as it grows.

After taking some feedback from the survey posted on the site, a lot of people thought it would be a good idea to have a forum where they communicate and share ideas. Another idea was to have user profile pages, as well as user contributed how-to and FAQ's. So based on those requests, I went ahead and purchased a copy of vBulletin Publishing Suite, of which it seems to fit all the requirements for hosting the Micro Hydro community.

I personally have not had a chance to get into this as a hobby yet, but I do have a son now, and I would like to think this is something we can get into when he gets older. So I am looking to you, the community, for the time being to contribute to the site since it's founder is no longer with us.

As for the forum, which will probably end up being the main place where people come to communicate and search for answers, we need to know from you what categories and sections you would like created. Please feel free to register and post your feedback and any ideas you might have.
